Schraapstaal was founded in the beginning of 2005 by four devoted musicians. Their drive to continuously innovate their music has enabled the band to create power metal that appeals to a wide audience. The band started out with only one guitarist, but when Antal joined the band in 2006 the lineup was complete and ready to show the world what true power metal sounds like.

Their approach to making music is truly epic: the frequent use of horns, trumpets, screaming guitars and falsetto vocals produce forceful dynamic melody lines that are supported by a strong rhythm section. The music is inspired by bands like Rhapsody, Gamma Ray and Stratovarius.

When keyboard player Koen decided to leave the band near the end of 2010, Schraapstaal endured their biggest challenge so far. It took them a year to get back on the saddle.

But now Schraapstaal is back with full force to bring you power metal the way it should be... LOUD, FAST AND EPIC! TO WAR!
